Q: What is the difference between "Building Stone" & "Thin Veneer"?
Building Stone is natural stone that is sorted and/or cut to be 4" to 8" in thickness.  The weight of the product requires that you have a supporting Ledge/Footer.  A Thin Veneer is sorted and/or cut to be less than 1 1/2" in thickness.  At this thickness a Ledge/Footer is not required.  If you are building a new home and are unsure if you have a ledge,  you should consult your builder or architect.  If you are remodeling (replacing stucco or siding with stone) then you will most likely need to use a Thin Stone Veneer.

Q: Why does the stone look so different from one house to the next?
A: There can be many factors which change the overall appearance of stone.  Being that it is a naturally quarried material, means that one box can vary from the next.  Certain stones will have more variation than others.  That being said, we do our very best to try and keep things as consistent as possible.  Many times it's not the stone that is different, but the picture itself.
Environmental factors, masonry styles, monitor and/or camera settings can all contribute to a stone "looking different".

Regardless of how different these pictures look, they are the same type of stone.  This is why it is important to view the stone in person, whether through color samples or visiting one of our distributors, before making a final selection.

Q: How does your Thin Veneer come packaged?
Our RealStone Veneer comes packaged in 100 square foot and 5 square foot weather resistant boxes.  Corners come in 100 linear foot and 5 linear foot boxes. 

The word "stone" once was never misunderstood or vague in meaning.  Today this one word has thousands of general contractors and property owners believing that they have natural stone on their home or commercial building.
